(Pronounced RUDDER-ROW)

Joe Rudderow, Businessman and Maidencreek Township Supervisor, announces his candidacy for Berks County Commissioner.

Blandon — Joe Rudderow is officially announcing his candidacy for Berks County Commissioner.

“What a great opportunity for Berks Countians to elect a new County Commissioner who can to lead us into the next decade ready to serve on day one. I bring more than 30 years of business experience  along with 18 years of local government experience to the table.  I have spent my life serving other people in both the private and public sectors as a business owner and Township Supervisor.  I know the value of hard work, accountability and fiscal responsibility. I know the importance of teamwork and consensus building, among colleagues and constituents. Most importantly, as your County Commissioner, I will continue to be a good steward of the taxpayers’ money. My business and local government experience help provide the steady hand on the wheel of County Government necessary to lead us into the next decade.”

While serving as a Maidencreek Township Supervisor we have been able to keep property taxes low while still providing the same level of municipal service as well as police coverage in the township.  While serving on the planning commission we were able to thoughtfully plan for the future of the township while preserving the rights of property owners. While serving as a Police Commissioner we returned more then $175,000 in budget surpluses back to the respective municipalities.

“Berks County has a tremendous opportunity to compete economically by attracting new companies to relocate to Berks County while encouraging those companies who are already here to expand and grow. Berks County needs to continue to support the agricultural community so they can remain strong and vibrant. Berks County needs to continue to improve it’s transportation plan to allow quicker and better access to Berks County and revisit other option’s such as the Reading Regional Airport. Lastly, Berks County needs to preserve and protect the assets of the County, such as Berks Heim.

As your  Berks County Commissioner, I will work to build consensus with our local, state and federal officials, business community, civic leaders and residents to help solve the issues that come before the Board of Commissioners and confidently lead Berks County into the next decade. Together, we can all play an important part in cultivating the best in Berks.”
